Support for junior scientists

The work of the BfR is based on the expertise of well trained and experienced scientists. Therefore basic and advanced training are important matters which are promoted on various levels.

Natural, human and social scientists work in interdisciplinary teams at the BfR on current and applied topics in the fields of food, product and chemicals safety, as well as the protection of laboratory animals. The BfR has state-of-the-art technical equipment at its disposal at its three locations in Berlin. It collaborates in national and international networks and joint projects with universities and non-university research institutions.

In addition to the opportunity of completing bachelor’s, diploma and master’s theses at the BfR, we promote doctoral candidates within the scope of the BfR doctoral training programme. Various advanced training and coaching offers are also available to postdocs. Moreover, junior research groups offer committed scientists attractive options for research, scientific qualification and the development of leadership skills.
