'Young Scientist Toxicology Award' for BfR scientist Dr Ines Schreiver

Dr Ines Schreiver has been awarded this year’s 'Young Scientist Toxicology Award' by the German Society of Toxicology. She has received the award for her research on the health risks of tattooing. In her work at the German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR), she investigates toxic decomposition products from pigments and the biodistribution thereof within the body. The aim of the research is to account for harmful components which arise during tattooing and to assess health risks for humans.

Dr Ines Schreiver received the award on 4 March 2020, presented at the 'German Pharm-Tox Summit' in Leipzig - the annual summit of the German Society of Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology (DGPT), which includes the German Society of Toxicology. Outstanding scientific performances by young scientists in the field of toxicology are acknowledged with the Young Scientist Toxicology Award.
