Project description:

The pesticide residue database RUEDIS has been developed by BfR more than 20 years ago. It has continuously been improved and extended and is up to now being used internally to manage detailed information from pesticide residue and processing trials which have been submitted in the framework of regulatory procedures.

Within this project EFSA is given access to the RUEDIS database and support in using it, including a webinar training session and an extensive manual. The long-term goal is to also open access to RUEDIS for competent authorities in other EU Member States and test its applicability to support the information management of pesticide residues data on EU level. During the project, a concept will be developed with respect to technical requirements and the required governance structure of such an opening process. A process workflow and information flow will be developed that allow for an efficient collection, data validation and evaluation of pesticide residues trials data utilising RUEDIS as part of the EU risk assessment processes.

A second objective of the project is to enable highly automated data imports into RUEDIS for data from pesticide residue and processing studies using OECD Harmonized Templates (OHTs) for data submission, and to implement automated data validation rules.
